AUTUMN/WINTER 2026 HAUTE COUTURE SHOW

ECHOING THE SPIRIT OF A NEW “GILDED AGE”, WHERE SPECTACLE, WEALTH, AND VISIBILITY DOMINATE THE SURFACE, VIKTOR&ROLF EXAMINES WHAT LIES BENEATH.

Two models walk a runway wearing highly structured, sculptural dresses made of stacked rectangular panels. The dress on the left is light beige/tan, and the dress on the right is metallic gold and black.

GILDED AGE 2.0

For Autumn/Winter 2026, Viktor&Rolf explore a fundamental tension: restraint versus decadence.

The collection is built as a series of exact doubles. One rendered in opulence, the other in austerity. Gold and burlap, decadence and restraint, articulate two extremes of the same form. Silhouettes are identical, yet their materiality transforms their meaning.

On stage, this duality unfolds like a universal dream, where two women move in perfect synchrony within a bedroom-like setting. Dressing and undressing repeat in a continuous loop, their mirrored gestures embodying the collection’s central tension.

Yet beneath the contrasts, gold and burlap become different expressions of the same human reality. Beneath every layer of adornment or discipline lies the same fragile humanity — exposed, enduring, and profoundly shared.
